Terms and Conditions Events in which I have danced have been as much fun for me as it has been for the party goers. Though most people are delightful to dance for, a few require clearly set boundaries so everyone knows what to expect. Some of the following language may seem legalistic, but please don't take the formality personally. This is so you and I know what to expect from each other.
Definitions: "The dancer" refers to Robin Ackerman-Gray who performs as Shayloe or Za'Zahn the Dragon and is the sole proprietor of The Dragon Dancer.
"The hiring party" refers to the individual, group of individuals, or organization who hires the dancer.
"The event" refers to the place, day and time the hiring party has arranged for the dancer to perform.
"The performance" refers to the actual dance as done by the dancer at the event.
The hiring party will remit payment in full to the dancer upon the completion of the performance, as arranged between the dancer and the hiring party.
If the hiring party fails to appear at the event on time to allow the dancer to perform, the hiring party is obligated to pay the dancer in full no later than seven (7) days from the date of the event.
If the event is arranged more than fourteen (14) days in advance, the hiring party will pay a nonrefundable $50.00 deposit in order to hold the performance at the event. The deposit must be received by the dancer no less than three (3) days from the date the event was arranged. NOTE: the deposit is part of the payment to be remitted in full to the dancer upon completion of the event.
If the hiring party cannot maintain the event, the hiring party must inform the dancer no later than the day before the event to avoid paying the amount due in full.
The hiring party is responsible for the guests at the event. Should guests behave inappropriately, the dancer will end the performance and the hiring party will pay the dancer in full. Inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to:
1. Excessive grabbing of the dancer's costume (it is one thing to offer the dancer a tip, it is another to "cop a feel".) 2. Grabbing, groping, or intimidating the dancer 3. Being urged to "take it off", as that implies stripping (continue reading) 4. Guests touching themselves or each other in a lewd manner during the performance. 5. Animal companions that become frightened, defensive, or excited and damage the dancers costume and / or the dancer.
NOTE: The hiring party will be financially responsible for any damage done to the dancer, the dancer's costumes or props as a result of inappropriate behavior demonstrated at the event.
The dancer will not perform at an all-male event. Should the dancer arrive at the event and only males make up in the audience, the hiring party will pay the dancer in full and the dancer is not obligated to perform at the event.
The dancer is not a stripper and will not perform at events in which stripping takes place, or strippers are present. If the dancer arrives at the event and stripping is part of the activities, even if stripping is not expected of the dancer, the hiring party will pay the dancer in full and the dancer is not obligated to perform at the event.
The dancer may bring chaperones to any event at her sole discretion.
Should the dancer not be able to maintain the event, the hiring party will be informed as soon as possible. Deposits, if any, will be reimbursed in a timely manner. However, if the dancer cannot maintain the event and/or inform the hiring party due to an unforeseen emergency (ex: car accident), the dancer is not accountable.
